Hello, everyone, I'm Julia. Welcome back to RUSCOPE. Today, I'm going to give you eight different ways how to say "thank you" in Russian.

I'll start out with some basic ones you probably already know. But keep watching this video so that you learn some new ones. Okay?

The most common and popular way to say "thank you" in Russian is the word "спасибо". "Спа-си-бо".

Not "спасибо" — "спасиба". "Спасиба".

[играет песня] Я у твоих ног, спасибо не говори.

If you want to show just how thankful you are you can add the adjective "большой" (big) to the word "спасибо". "Большое спасибо" or "спасибо большое". Literally it means "a big thanks".

Or you can say "огромное спасибо" if someone really has done a favour that helped you a lot. "Огромное спасибо" or "спасибо огромное". Literally it is "a huge thanks". So "спасибо" — "большое спасибо" — "огромное спасибо".

If you want to thank for something in Russian you have to use the preposition "за" and Accusative case "чётвертый падеж".

For example, "спасибо за помощь", "спасибо за комплимент", "спасибо за invitation "спасибо за совет".

[играет песня] Спасибо за день, спасибо за ночь. Спасибо за сына, спасибо и за дочь.

Another way to sound interesting and not trivial would be using the alt word "благодарю". "Бла-го-да-рю". "Благодарю". For instance, "Благодарю вас от всей души".

Or you can change the verb "благодарить" and turn it into an adjective. Saying "я благодарен" if you are male, "я благодарна" if you are female, "мы благодарны" for plural.

For instance, "я очень благодарна вам за помощь".

Also, you can use the next phrases: "это очень мило с твоей/вашей стороны", "это очень мило с твоей стороны" or another variant of this phrase — "это kindly любезно с твоей/вашей стороны". "Это kindly любезно с вашей стороны".

We finally got to the last phrase. "Я ценю это". "Я очень ценю это".
